School Latest News
The return to school after a holiday always brings with it a renewed sense of optimism and the Government announcement of a roadmap out of lockdown was a further boost.
School will soon be open to all students and we can continue our core purpose of face to face teaching. The announcement that schools will reopen from the 8th March for students was accompanied with new guidance for school leaders. Amongst the detail was some changes to our expected reopening plans around testing. Testing of students and staff is central to reopening and we want to ensure we play our part in organising an effective and efficient testing process. This will go a long way to keeping the current local infection rates low and help suppress the spread of the virus.
I will be writing to you with further details as soon as we have processed the announcement and created a detailed plan to deliver an effective testing programme. The link below provides a summary of the key points set out in the newly released guidance.
All students to return to school and college from 8th March - What you need to know.
We are designating Monday 8th March as a preparation day for staff to organise their resources, classrooms, planning and to undertake training to familiarise themselves with our new procedures. No live remote learning will be set on this day. All in school support for key workers and vulnerable students will cease on Friday 5th March as we begin preparations for student testing and return to face to face teaching.
I would again ask for your patience and understanding on the complexity of reopening a school with mass testing in place.
