The Cottesloe School Gardening Club deliver a massive bucket of sweetpeas to Carey Lodge Care Home07/09/2021

Students from The Cottesloe School Gardening Club were delighted to deliver a massive bucket of sweetpeas to Carey Lodge Care Home, Wing, after school on Thursday, July 15.

The well-being benefits of gardening are well documented. During the periods in the past year when the school was closed to most students, those in school were invited to take part in a gardening project. This academic year the staff and students of the Gardening Club have focused their efforts on establishing a Wellbeing Garden on a piece of unused land next to TEAM Hub (the pastoral support centre). The project is led by Mrs Hammons.

The Friends of Cottesloe (a registered charity) secured a grant to help fund the project. However, the school would welcome donations of new or pre-loved spades and forks for digging; a sturdy wheelbarrow and bags of compost.

Anyone interested in learning more about the project; donating items or sponsoring the Wellbeing Garden should contact ahawkes@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk
