About Us Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium
Introduced in 2011, the Pupil Premium is a sum of money given to schools each year by the Government to improve the attainment of disadvantaged children. Often, children who are entitled to pupil premium face challenges such as poor language and communication skills, lack of confidence and issues with attendance and punctuality. The pupil premium funding is intended to directly benefit the children who are eligible, helping to narrow the gap between them and their classmates.

Those eligible are:

  • Children who are, or have ever been, entitled to free school meals based on their family income
  • Children in care
  • Children previously in care who have been adopted, or who have a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
  • Children recorded as being from service families

Pupil Premium funding runs from April to April. Each year, the School publishes the planned spending for Pupil Premium funding and this can be found within this section of the website.  However, there is money available to help support students for things like trips, books, study guides, etc.  If you feel we could support you with funding for these, please contact me on 01296 68826 or
