Chromebooks for Learning

Unleashing Potential: The Cottesloe School Chromebook Initiative

At The Cottesloe School, we're dedicated to equipping every student with the tools to thrive. That's why we've partnered with Freedom Tech to introduce the Chromebook Initiative, providing students with a secure and versatile learning device.

Why Chromebooks?

Chromebooks go beyond traditional laptops. They offer a streamlined and user-friendly experience ideal for educational environments. Here's how they benefit your child:

  • Effortless Collaboration: Chromebooks integrate seamlessly with Google Classroom, enabling effortless communication and document sharing between students and teachers. This fosters a collaborative learning environment where students can work together on projects and receive immediate feedback.
  • Personalised Learning Path: Chromebooks unlock a vast library of digital resources, including interactive textbooks, educational apps, and online research tools. This allows students to explore topics at their own pace, delve deeper into areas of interest, and receive feedback electronically.
  • Cultivating Future-Ready Skills: In today's technology-driven world, digital literacy is paramount. Chromebooks equip students with the skills they need to navigate the digital landscape confidently. They'll learn essential skills like research, communication, and critical thinking, preparing them for success in higher education and future careers.
  • Ability to connect safely: Chromebooks can be managed safely, allowing access to school Wi-Fi and promoting specific educational apps and tools through the Google platform. Students who already have a Chromebook are able to use it in school; they simply need to be configured to our Wi-Fi by our IT support team. We do not support the use of laptops, Macbooks or any other devices in Years 7 to 11 at school.
