Revision Techniques for GCSEs and A-Levels
At The Cottesloe School, our mission is to Prepare, Aspire, and Succeed. As you approach your GCSEs and A-Levels, having a clear strategy for revision is the key to turning your hard work into high grades.
Success isn't about how many hours you sit at a desk; it’s about how you use that time. See the links below to help you make the most impact with your revision.
Top Tips for Parents & Carers
- The 20-Minute Rule: Encourage your child to read or revise in focused 20-minute blocks followed by a 5-minute break.
- Questioning: Ask your child to "teach" you a topic they have just revised. If they can explain it simply, they have mastered it.
- Environment: Ensure they have a quiet, well-lit space away from distractions (especially mobile phones!).
