Sixth Form Travel Offer

We are absolutely delighted to share some truly positive news regarding your potential journey to Sixth Form at The Cottesloe School! It has always been of paramount importance to us that our students can continue their education within our supportive and high-achieving environment, building upon the strong foundations laid during their earlier years with us.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude for your invaluable support and prompt responses to our recent queries regarding the Bucks Council travel policies. Your feedback was crucial in helping us ascertain the true scale of the concern and has directly enabled us to work towards a solution.

We are thrilled to confirm that, thanks to this collaborative effort, we have successfully developed a dedicated travel plan that will support some of our students to attend Sixth Form at The Cottesloe School. This means we've put provisions in place to help make your commute manageable and allow you to benefit from the excellent education and opportunities our Sixth Form provides.

We will be utilising a mixture of commercial and in-house vehicles to ensure this service is robust and reliable.

The final details of the routes are being decided, but it will essentially cover two areas.

One route will serve the south-east of the school, heading out and back to Dagnall, passing through our catchment area and including villages such as Eddlesborough, Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Cheddington, and Wingrave. A second route will head north of Wing towards Bletchley, stopping off in key villages such as Newton Longville, Soulbury, Stoke Hammond, and Great Brickhill.

While these routes might be subject to some change, it is our intention to support as many students as we can with these two services. The timeframe we have been working to is incredibly tight, and it may not accommodate every student. If this scheme proves viable, we would look to broaden it in the following academic year.

The cost of a seat on this service will be in the region of £1,100 for the academic year, which is in line with most commercial routes that currently exist for students who do not qualify for free transport to their nearest school. This works out at approximately £6 per day for your child's transport. To reserve a seat and help us finalise arrangements, we will require a £100 deposit. Should your child not be successful in their application, this deposit will be refunded. For all successful applicants who have paid a deposit, this will be directly deducted from the full ticket price.

Before paying a deposit, please check the proposed routes. These routes may vary depending on the location of our successful Sixth Form applicants. We acknowledge that this does not cater for all of our students, however we have done all we can to support those who we believe will need support with transport.

Route 1 Dagnall, Eddlesborough, Pitstone, Ivinghoe, Cheddington and Wingrave

Route 2 Stewkley, Drayton Parslow, Newton Leys, Great Brickhill, Stoke Hammond, Soulbury

Further detailed information regarding specific routes, timetables, and how to secure a seat will be shared with all applicants around the time of GCSE results day.

We genuinely believe that every student deserves the chance to pursue their academic goals, and this new travel plan is a testament to our unwavering commitment to making our Sixth Form accessible. It is incredibly important to us that our students continue their 'Cottesloe Journey' with us, building on the success we have created together and achieving their full potential.

We eagerly anticipate receiving your applications and look forward to welcoming you to our vibrant Sixth Form community.

Yours sincerely
Mr S Jones
