Summer 2021 Half Term Update27/05/2021

Thankfully, the roadmap set out by the Government appears to be progressing as planned. We are keeping a close eye on the new ‘Indian’ variant and we are tracking this via local and national data provided by Buckinghamshire Council.

We are beginning to offer a wider range of opportunities through school with some clubs, extra-curricular activities and trips beginning to resume. This is a welcome return towards the offer we strive to provide for our students, and one that we are all looking forward to resuming. Students have missed out on so many opportunities and we are endeavouring to bring back as many things as we can as time and guidelines permit.

Part of our ongoing control measures includes requiring all staff and students to regularly test using Lateral Flow Testing Devices (LFTD). As society continues to open up this is increasingly important and we must remain vigilant and proactive in maintaining the progress we have all benefited from. Staff and students are expected to continue testing until further notice.

Holiday periods always bring the opportunity to visit friends and family, many of whom we may not have seen for some time. I would urge that all families take extra care during the upcoming half term break.
Students have, and will continue to be issued with additional LFTD before the end of this week, and I would urge you to continue testing regularly during the holiday period and before returning to school. Please let us know if you need additional supplies.
Where students or staff test positive, having developed symptoms within 2 days of being in school or college, as a school we have a duty to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school or college. Please contact covid@cottesloe.bucks.sch.uk if this situation occurs so we can begin contact tracing during the early part of the holiday.
Foreign travel is still a little uncertain and we would urge parents to follow the government guidance around overseas travel. Please be mindful that countries can quickly move from green, amber and red and this can impact students' attendance at school should you travel abroad.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
Stay safe and enjoy the predicted and much needed sunshine during half term!

Yours Sincerely
Mr S Jones
Headteacher
